SightMe

Project is inactive

It is not easy to study the behaviour of whales and dolphins as these are animals that spend their lives in the sea, dive for extended periods, and frequently live in pelagic areas far from the coast. That is why the folk at Eco Marine Malta ask for your help to collect valuable data on the presence and distribution of these species by reporting sightings that occur during your boat trips. Whether you are a boater, a fisherman, or a seafarer, you can help collect and share your data by using SightMe. The collected data will be shared with public and private organisations involved in the study of these extraordinary animals, to develop a conservation plan for each species.

WHAT

To collect research data on cetaceans and turtles and mitigate the impact of boat disturbance on them and their habitat, through public engagement in scientific monitoring.
