Project is inactive

Thanks to rising sea levels and extreme weather, our beaches are changing faster than ever!

The CoastSnaps initiative uses cutting-edge technology and inclusive community participation to give sailors and beach enthusiasts alike, the chance to contribute to vital beach monitoring efforts.

By mapping beach change over time using CoastSnaps scientists can gain a unique insight into how different beaches respond to changing ocean conditions, ensuring healthier coastlines for generations to come.

Just visit a station, capture shoreline and sand levels with your smartphone, and share via the Coastsnaps app or social media!

WHAT

Measure beach change and help to understand and manage this dynamic coast.

PROJECT SOCIALS

FRO_squares_white_edited_edited.png

Thanks to CoastSnap, everyone's photos are taken from the same position and angle whenever they visit the beach. Over time the database helps scientists measure the changing beach width, shape and movement of the shoreline.
